Message systems - see my previous post for email content. For those of you who are interested - I received a telephone call in response to an email I sent to Governor Bush (Florida). A captain from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) discussed my email regarding the ticketing of car owner with high performance exhaust systems.

Points he made:
1. People are complaining about loud exhaust systems (Cars and motorcycles) and boom boxes.
2. Florida law enforcement agencies in or near a college town are more aware of loud exhaust systems and excessive noise.
3. FHP does not have devices that measure db, but will still issue tickets. Law basically states the exhause systems must be at least as quiet as the original stock system.
4. Too many young drivers gunning the engine and blasting the neighborhoods with loud music.

Bottom line is if you rev up your engine and call attention to yourself you will probably get a ticket. If you drive quietly the probability of getting a ticket is less.

Pete
